About Today’s Guest
Jim Beamesderfer oversees Prudential Financial’s Diversity and Inclusion activities, including work with other internal partners on communications and philanthropic initiatives. He also runs their VETalent program, which partners with the nonprofit Workers Opportunity Services to recruit, train, and hire Iraq- and Afghanistan-era veterans and military spouses. In that role, Jim has led development of our military spouse employment program and expanded VETalent to other companies around the country. In June 2019, Jim was appointed co-chair of the US Chamber of Commerce Hiring Our Heroes Military Spouse Employment Council.
Before joining Prudential in 1997, Jim served as a captain in the U.S. Army for six years after earning a B.A. in mechanical engineering at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix. He remains an active member of the Rutgers Business School Military and Veterans Advisory Board.
