Wounded Warrior Project releases 15 courses powered by PsychArmor

Veteran Health and Wellness training covers TBI & Suicide Prevention, Resilience and PTSD

San Diego, CA – Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) and PsychArmor have developed a series of online training courses that provide critical training and education for those who seek to more effectively engage with and support wounded warriors and their loved ones, as well as other service members, Veterans, caregivers and their families. All 15 courses will be available through WWP and on PsychArmor’s online learning library, free to individual learners.

The Veteran Health and Wellness Training series covers Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Resilience, Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), and Suicide Prevention, all with specialized focus on military and Veteran culture. The Suicide Prevention series covers understanding and preventing suicide. A two-part TBI series includes “What to Know and How to Help” as well as “Advanced Topics.” The PTSD series offers four courses: “Introduction and Overview”, “Presentation and Treatment”, “Myths and Facts” and “Assessment.” The 7-part Resilience series includes an overview, a course each on measuring and sustaining resilience, plus additional courses focused on nutrition, exercise, and sleep. All courses are narrated by WWP’s team of subject matter experts and informed by clinical research.

WWP will offer the courses to all team members and partners. PsychArmor will serve as a force multiplier by offering this best-practice curriculum through multiple networks including healthcare provider training and military/Veteran programs.

WWP provides free life-saving programs and services in mental and brain health, career counseling, physical health and wellness, connection and long-term rehabilitative care. The veterans charity has more than 700 teammates in offices around the country who support post-9/11 wounded warriors and their families.

"These training courses can help our teammates and partner organizations better serve veterans living with PTSD and TBI,” said Alex Balbir, Ph.D., MBA, WWP director of independence services. “Collaborating with PsychArmor helps us reach warriors and families and make a difference.”

PsychArmor is a leading national nonprofit and preferred training provider which specializes in military cultural awareness and competency.
