Each course focuses on a specific audience - everyone, caregivers & loved ones, and healthcare providers - but all provide valuable insight into the unique needs of Veterans during this critical time. Once you have completed the course collection, you will have the knowledge and necessary skills to provide compassionate, loving, and respectful care to Veterans in their final days, regardless of your background or profession.
Compassionate Communities

In this course, you will learn how you can provide compassionate care through the end-of-life for those who have served our country. We will explore the unique needs of Veterans during this time, the challenges they may face, and how their military service shapes their end of life experiences. Active listening strategies will be discussed, as we explore the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of Veterans and their families. Together, we will learn how to support and honor those who have served, and their loved ones, in their final journey.
Caregivers and Loved Ones

In this course for caregivers and loved ones, you will learn how to support and care for Veterans as they near the end of their lives. We will explore the impact of the final journey on caregivers and loved ones, and the importance of planning and respite care. We will discuss how a Veteran's service in different eras may impact their care and the unique challenges faced by caregivers and loved ones in the grieving process. By the end of this course, you will have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide compassionate care and support to Veterans and their families during this important time.
Healthcare Providers

In this healthcare provider course, you will gain the skills and knowledge to provide compassionate care to our nation's Veterans as they approach the end of their lives. We will examine the specific needs of Veterans and their families, as well as how a patient's military service can impact end-of-life medical care.
