PsychArmor collaborates with CareSource to ensure their employees are Military & Veteran Ready
PsychArmor, the leader in military culture training, is collaborating with CareSource, a nationally recognized, nonprofit managed care organization serving over 2 million members to achieve Military & Veteran Ready Organization (VRO) Certification in order to support employee understanding of the unique experiences of the military community. By taking this step to offer enhanced training for employees, CareSource is demonstrating its commitment to offering a more genuine connection and better support for Veterans, active-duty personnel and their families.
Drawing on decades of providing high-quality, cost-effective care, CareSource launched CareSource Military & Veterans to help active-duty military personnel, Veterans and their families navigate the complexities of the military health systems. They join the nearly 200 Veteran Ready Organizations nationwide that leverage PsychArmor’s online learning to train their clinical providers and staff members in military culture and the specific strengths, needs and lifestyle of this community. PsychArmor offers a customized VRO learning track specifically designed for health care professionals with easy access to online courses, digital badges and certificates upon course completion.
“Our overall mission at CareSource is to make a lasting difference in our members’ lives by improving their health and well-being,” said Jennifer Dougherty, chief human resources officer, CareSource. “By completing military culture training, CareSource’s network of nearly 5,000 employees will better understand and take pride in bringing our mission and brand of care to this community. We are committed to improving the well-being of those who sacrifice so much to protect our nation.”
The military connected community -- including service members, Veterans, their families and caregivers -- accounts for more than 10% of the American population and each of these populations represent a critical touchpoint for effective engagement and connection for CareSource employees. Through this collaboration with PsychArmor, CareSource can help ensure their employees have access to evidence-based military culture training that will result in more Veterans and families receiving culturally-informed care. Of more than 100,000 PsychArmor learners surveyed since 2019, 98% indicated that they will "use what I learned" and feel the "information presented was relevant to my goals.” Additionally, 97% "learned something new as a result of this training.”
“Achieving Military & Veteran Ready status demonstrates CareSource’s commitment to serving and providing the highest quality care possible to Veterans and the military-connected community,” said Dr. Tina Atherall, CEO of PsychArmor.
The training CareSource is utilizing has been created and designed by a team of clinical psychologists, Veterans and social workers, all steeped in military culture, and offers a learning journey of evidence-based online courses and supplemental resources.
