The Modern Military Association of America and PsychArmor Announce Partnership to Enhance Diversity, Inclusion, Equity, and Access in the Military and Veteran Community

WASHINGTON D.C. (March 18th, 2021) – Today the Modern Military Association of America (MMAA), the nation’s largest LGBTQ military and veteran non-profit organization, and PsychArmor (PA), the nation’s leading non-profit in educating military-affiliated communities through diverse learning pathways, proudly announce a joint partnership aimed to enhance diversity, inclusion, equity, and access in the military and veteran community.

This groundbreaking partnership not only enhances the mission and vision of both MMAA and PsychArmor but also clearly lays the foundation to ensure the LGBTQ voices are heard. PsychArmor has spent over seven years cultivating a repository of over 200 educational courses and training modules focusing on the military-affiliated community. Now, PsychArmor’s courses will be more inclusive to the needs of LGBTQ servicemembers, veterans and their families.

“It is an incredible honor and privilege to partner with PsychArmor as they pivot toward a well-rounded public education model,” said MMAA Executive Director Jennifer Dane. “The LGBTQ military and veteran communities have historically been left out of the conversation and we are grateful that PA has committed to bringing our perspectives, experiences, and voice to the forefront.”

“The impact and influence of Jennifer Dane and MMAA has been transformative within the world of military and veteran service organizations,” said PsychArmor CEO Tina Atherall. “This partnership is critical to PsychArmor, and the community we serve, as we continue to develop education and training. We hold great responsibility in ensuring all military, veterans, families, caregivers and their children are represented in our work.”

This strategic partnership marks the first for Jennifer Dane, as she was named Executive Director of MMAA earlier this month, and marks the first for PsychArmor as they recommit to ensuring work meets the needs of today’s modern military service members, veterans, and their families.
