About Today’s Guest

As Senior Director of Investments, Emily Bader is responsible for all of the Bob Woodruff Foundation’s investments to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for veterans, service members, military families, and caregivers. Emily’s team finds, funds, and shapes investments that best meet the emerging and long-term needs of the military and veteran community.

Since joining BWF’s programs team in 2018, Emily has published numerous briefs to raise awareness of emerging mil/vet research, developed an innovative clinical stipend program to increase healthcare providers’ access to training in evidence-based treatments, facilitated the launch of the Move United’s USA Wheelchair Football League, transformed how BWF evaluates the impact of their investments, and shaped programming to improve the functional and substantive expertise of BWF’s Got Your 6 Network. In prior BWF roles, Emily has managed individual grants, overseen BWF events, and contributed to executive office operations.

She holds a master’s degree in Near Eastern Studies from New York University, and she studied Arabic at The Sijal Institute for Arabic Language and Culture in Amman, Jordan. Emily graduated Summa Cum Laude from St. John’s University with a B.S. in Criminal Justice. Her uncle is a proud Vietnam War veteran and her cousin is currently serving in the U.S. Air Force.
