PsychArmor, Veteran Debt Assistance Expand Access to Financial Education for Veterans

SAN DIEGO — October 14, 2026

PsychArmor and Veteran Debt Assistance (VDA) are expanding their collaboration to make practical, military-informed financial education available at no cost to Veterans and the broader military-connected community.

The collaboration builds on work that began more than a year ago with the development of a financial education seminar created by VDA and PsychArmor, Conquering Debt: A Shared Mission. The seminar has been presented nationally to Veteran-serving organizations, including Disabled American Veterans (DAV), The American Legion, and the National Association of State Directors of Veterans Affairs.

Building on that foundation, PsychArmor and VDA are developing a series of short, accessible micro-learnings focused on debt management, budgeting and saving. The resources will be available free of charge, allowing learners to access them wherever they are.

The collaboration brings together VDA’s experience in helping Veterans navigate debt and connect them with best-in-class, trusted educational resources, and PsychArmor’s expertise in developing curriculum through a military culture lens.

The lessons are designed to provide financial literacy tools that reflect the experiences, culture and needs of the military and Veteran community.

“Our goal is simple -- to help Veterans move beyond financial survival and build a stronger, more secure financial future,” said Angel Torres, Senior Vice President of Military Veteran Outreach for Veteran Debt Assistance, and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. “This partnership brings together two organizations that share a deep commitment to serving Veterans and their families. We’re grateful to partner with PsychArmor to deliver these microlessons to Veterans and military families, wherever they are in their journey.”

Together, the organizations are working to make financial education more relevant, accessible, and useful for those who have served.

“Financial well-being is an important part of overall well-being, and Veterans deserve access to resources that recognize their experiences and reflect the realities of military life,” said Dr. Tina Atherall, CEO of PsychArmor. “Our collaboration with Veteran Debt Assistance allows us to bring practical, relevant financial education to more members of the military-connected community, helping them build the knowledge and confidence to make informed financial decisions.”
