Clinical Psychologist, Student Veteran Health Program at San Francisco VA Medical Center
Jennifer K Gonzales Shushereba, Psy.D., received her Doctor of Psychology degree from the PGSP-Stanford Psy.D. Consortium at Palo Alto University in 2003. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Iowa City VA Medical Center where she participated primarily in rotations for PTSD and Family therapy, with additional training in SUD, Polytrauma, and Health Psychology. After graduation, Dr. Gonzales Shushereba went on to complete a postdoctoral fellowship at the Santa Rosa CBOC for the San Francisco VA Medical Center SFVAMC where she focused on working with veterans with PTSD, caregivers, and couples. Upon receiving her license, Dr Gonzales Shushereba joined a group practice and worked with Santa Clara County Sheriff Deputies, their families, and civilians. She also served student veterans as the Clinical Coordinator for the VITAL program at the VA Palo Alto Health Care System where she collaborated with her colleague Damian Bramlett to create the PAI training on the VA Campus Toolkit. Dr. Gonzales Shusherba was a Clinical Psychologist with the Student Veteran Health Program at (SFVAMC) and split her time between working on campus with veterans at Napa Valley College and working at The Pathway Home, a residential program for veterans returning to school through academic or vocational programs. She was a dedicated mental health professional and a vocal advocate for veterans. Her passion for education, and for bridging the military-civilian divide, will always be an important part of her legacy.
