Elsa O’Loughlin has been a military spouse for over 25 years and her husband has recently retired from the Marine Corps after 30 years of service. Elsa has supported her husband through his career as a Drill Instructor, Senior Drill Instructor, and Battalion Sergeant Major, as well as through eight deployments, including Desert Shield/Desert Storm and three tours in Iraq. She was also pregnant with her second child during Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
While supporting her husband, Elsa also worked full-time and raised their three children, including taxing the children to extracurricular activities and assisting with school projects. She tended to all family needs while her husband was away for deployments and trainings, in addition to the many early mornings and late nights. Elsa contributes her ability to manage the demands of being a military spouse and mother to her faith and support from family.
Elsa is currently the Donor Development Coordinator for the Semper Fi Fund and America’s Fund Organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides immediate financial assistance and lifetime support for wounded, critically ill and injured members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.
