Secretary Shulkin’s Departure from the Department of Veterans Affairs

Statement from PsychArmor Institute Regarding Secretary Shulkin’s Departure from the Department of Veterans Affairs

Marjorie Morrison, CEO and founder of PsychArmor Institute, released the following statement today following the departure of Dr. David J. Shulkin as Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs earlier this week:

“PsychArmor would like to thank former Secretary Shulkin for his outstanding efforts in serving our nation’s 20 million Veterans. During his tenure at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Dr. Shulkin worked tirelessly to improve the lives of Veterans, service members, and their families by: increasing access to mental health services, modernizing the appeals process for Veterans seeking disability benefits, reducing wait times and increasing productivity within the VA, expanding education opportunities through the G.I. Bill, and working to expand the VA Caregiver Program. These successes align with PsychArmor’s mission to provide important resources to all Americans who work with, live with, and care for Veterans.”

“We are thankful for Dr. Shulkin’s comprehensive approach in providing critical resources to meet our Veterans’ needs. PsychArmor will continue to maintain a strong relationship with the VA, and we look forward to the progress that Acting Secretary Robert Wilkie and the future Secretary will make for all eras of Veterans and military personnel.”
