Desiree joined PsychArmor first as a volunteer. She is from Rancho Cucamonga, California and comes from a military family. Desiree graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa in 2014 with a B.A. in Psychology. Currently, Desiree is a second year graduate student in the Masters program, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, at the University of San Diego. Her career goals are to become a counselor for military personnel with mental health illnesses, specifically working with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Desiree is also interested in helping military families. She has volunteered at Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego at the start of 2016 to give emotional support to a military child through the deployment process. Additional volunteer experience involve supporting Vietnam Veterans at the VA Medical Hospital in West Los Angeles as well as accommodating their families at the Fisher House Foundation in West Los Angeles.
