Prolonged Exposure (PE)

Prolonged Exposure (PE) is an evidence-based treatment for PTSD. It has been used successfully for decades in a number of different patient populations, including Veterans. There are many randomized controlled trials proving its efficacy. PE includes both imaginal exposure and in vivo exposure to safe situations that have been avoided because they elicit traumatic reminders. PE is a protocol-based treatment, and is typically completed in twelve sessions. This engaging online training presented by experts at the Center for Deployment Psychology takes mental health providers through background, theory, rationale, and session-by-session instruction in preparation to use PE in their clinical practices.
