Presented by Dr. Ted Bonar, Psy.D., “Invisible Wounds at Home: Symptoms of PTSD” is intended for the family members of those who have served in uniform. It is the second in a series of three courses: “What is PTSD” and “How to Help a Family Member with PTSD.” It covers criteria for PTSD, including various traumas. Knowing the symptoms of these traumas will help you understand how your loved one might be suffering. We discuss each symptom such as intrusion, avoidance, reactivity, and changes in thoughts and feelings.
“Invisible Wounds at Home: Symptoms of PTSD” gives an overview of the symptoms of an invisible wound of war, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. The goal of this short course is to educate family members and caregivers about Veterans who may be suffering from PTSD and to be aware of your loved one’s symptoms.
