Inner Conflict and Survivor’s Guilt

Intended for all healthcare providers who treat service members and Veterans, this course is narrated by clinical psychologist and Navy combat Veteran Dr. Heidi Kraft. Through storytelling and clinical case examples, Dr. Kraft will guide healthcare learners to better understand the concepts of inner conflict - also called moral injury - and survivors guilt, including the impact of these experiences in the military and Veteran populations. Dr. Kraft describes some military-specific situations that service members might experience that can cause inner conflict and survivor’s guilt, and explores their behavioral and cognitive manifestations and clinical presentation. Finally, this course covers evidence-based treatments and other interventions that have been effective in the recovery process after inner conflict, moral injury, and survivors’ guilt.

Ms Kraft uses her personal service well to connect the event to the outcome. I appreciate that she is still working in this field. She is truly helping non-military community understand military culture and the value of understanding the context provides useful methods to assess and address these issues.
