Transitioning from military service to the civilian sector affects the type of health care that is available to service members and their families. PsychArmor Institute’s course “Accessing Health Care” offers service members, Veterans, and their families an overview of the types of healthcare available as part of their Veteran status. Narrated by Congressman Patrick Kennedy, founder of the Kennedy Forum and mental health advocate, this course identifies the types of coverage available through TriCare or by choosing your own private insurance. This course also discusses the Executive Order signed by President Trump in January 2018 that supports Veterans with mental health and suicide prevention resources and aims to provide seamless access to these services for Veterans in their first year after separation from military service.
