15 Things Veterans Want You to Know for Healthcare Providers

This course was created to educate Healthcare Providers who care for our military Veterans. PsychArmor asked hundreds of Veterans what they wanted civilians, employers, educators, health care providers, and therapists to know about them. These comments were used to create the topics of this course.

Technical FAQs

Fifteen Things Veterans Want You to Know is the cornerstone course for military culture education at PsychArmor Institute, and was created to help educate anyone who works with, lives with, or cares for our military service members, Veterans and their families. This special version of Fifteen Things focuses on healthcare providers, and the most important factors for them to understand in order to provide outstanding care to our country’s Veterans. Narrated by Navy combat Veteran Dr. Heidi Kraft, Fifteen Things is military culture in the form of a sea story brought to life, and will change the way you look at your patients who wear or once wore our country’s uniform.

Loved this training, as a veteran it truly hits home, and something that would be very applicable to not only providers, but employers, and the general public.

I will set a goal to include these thoughts in my meditation to increase my awareness of the sacrifices military families make for our country.

As a Vietnam Vet, a suicide survivor and a retired minister, I have chosen to establish a new ministry dealing with suicide prevention through out KS/MO area in and out of church speaking to groups concerning outreach and caring for the vets we come in contact with. All these lessons and training certificates will allow me to establish this ministry. Thank you for your dedication to our needs and to God for each of you who have this same mission.

I have a deeper understanding of what my loved one experienced in Afghanistan; the commitment, the toll, and the irreversible self-identity of being a Military medic and officer. Thank you.

What a wonderful class, very well presented it explained to me the culture of the town that I grew up around but since my parents were not in it. I remember as a child and as a teen going over and watching the military parades and attending events at VMI. Thank you to all those that serve and have served. Growing up where I grew up I learned to have honor and respect for veterans from a young age. There was a lot we didn’t talk about, I am glad to work with my patient’s who are veterans.
