Sonya Norman, Ph.D. is DIrector of the PTSD Consultation Program for The National Center for PTSD, a researcher at the San Diego VA and an Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego. She earned her doctorate at Stanford University. She formerly directed the PTSD clinic for Veterans who served in Iraq and Afghanistan at the San Diego VA. Dr. Norman’s primary areas of research are in psychotherapies that treat co-occurring PTSD and substance use disorders and in treating PTSD and post-deployment mental health problems in recently deployed veterans.
