Program Manager for Professional Development and Standards at Military Child Education Coalition
Amanda Hulsey serves as the Program Manager for Professional Development and Standards at the Military Child Education Coalition (MCEC) and is considered a subject-matter expert on transitioning military children and special education. Her role is to provide program management, leadership, compliance expertise, and oversees the professional development and accreditation efforts. Amanda has served in various capacities at MCEC since 2007.
Through her experience as an Active Duty spouse, educator, and mother of two military-connected children, Amanda has dedicated her life’s work to mitigating educational inequalities for all students; especially those who are military and veteran-connected. She has taught all grade levels in highly-mobile school settings and served as Special Education Advisor and Department Chair in the K-12 environment.
Amanda truly believes in being a lifelong learner and has a range of educational interests. She is a graduate of University of Alabama College of Commerce and Business Administration (BS, Business), Texas Tech University College of Education (MA, Special Education) and is currently pursuing a Master of Social Work from the University of Alabama.
