Patricia Montes “Patty” Barron

Patty Barron is director of family readiness at the Association of the United States Army (AUSA), and as such leads all AUSA family programs and initiatives by providing strategic leadership and oversight to all directorate activities. Previously, she served as the director of outreach, Military Family Projects, at ZERO TO THREE and has worked as the director of youth initiatives at the National Military Family Association where she oversaw the Association’s Operation Purple Camp program. She has served on Zero to Three’s Coming Together Around Military Children Advisory Board, the Sesame Workshop Talk Listen, Connect, Phase Two and the Impact on Caregiving on Military Children Advisory Panels and is currently serving on the Child Care Aware of America Advisory Council, the Boys & Girls Clubs of America National Military Leadership Council, and the PsychArmor Institute Caregiver Advisory Committee. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of San Francisco and her Master of Science degree from Long Island University. She holds a Non-Profit Management Executive Certificate from Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy and a Certificate, Executive Education from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Patty is also the founder of the Military Caregivers and Cancer Warriors Network and  is married to COL Michael Barron, USA Ret.
