COURSE OVERVIEW

Veteran 201: Military Lingo & Discharges is designed for anyone with little to no background regarding the history of the Department of Defense. It provides an overview of common acronyms and military lingo used in across all of the military branches. This course also explains the different types of military discharges and the benefits associated with them. The goal of this course is to assist you in feeling more comfortable in working with our Service members and Veterans by providing you with some insight into their unique language and possible discharge statuses.

  • Discussion on September 11th and the effects on the United States (15 Minutes)

  • Discussion on the outcomes of September 11th and ISIS (15 Minutes)

Module Four: Veterans

  • Discussion comparing the types of military discharges (20 Minutes)

Module Five: Military Families

  • Introduction (5 Minutes)

  • Discussion on the stages of military deployment (15 Minutes)

  • Overview of changes families face when an injured military family member returns home (15 Minutes)

  • Review of military family strengths (10 Minutes)

  • Discussion on considerations and interventions of the deployment cycle and its effects on families (15 Minutes)
