Helping You Help Veterans!

Purpose

Fewer than 7 percent of Americans have served their country in uniform. This leaves us with a significant civilian-military divide. The Veteran community is faced with serious issues, including suicide, posttraumatic stress disorder, traumatic brain injury, depression, substance use disorder, and homelessness. When people are struggling, it is often those around them who are the first to recognize that something is not right. Before PsychArmor was established, those friends, family members, neighbors, and co-workers had no place to go for assistance on how to effectively support a Veteran. PsychArmor Institute is here to bridge that gap and help every American serve those who served.

Our Service

PsychArmor Institute is a national nonprofit that provides free, online education and support to all Americans who work with, live with, or care for Service members, Veterans, and their families. PsychArmor recruits nationally recognized subject matter experts to create and deliver online courses on relevant issues related to Veterans and their families. Our online training developers use engaging and interactive technology to deliver this critical information to the learner through a sophisticated learning management system. Our self-paced trainings are divided into six schools: Military Culture & Overview, Veteran Employers, Educators, Healthcare Providers, Caregivers & Families, and Volunteers working with Veterans. In 2017, we are building new schools to include: Legal Professionals, Faith Leaders, Financial Counselors, Public Servants, and Emergency Responders. In addition, our "Helping You Help Veterans" support line provides assistance and vetted resources to civilians, ensuring they are armed with all the tools they need to effectively work with, live with, and care for military Veterans.

All funds raised for the 2nd Annual Bridging the Gap Gala will benefit PsychArmor Institue's mission to provide free education and support to help all Americans serve those who have served.
