CAROLE TURNER

Carole is the Vice President for Strategic Communications, having joined PsychArmor in November 2020 as a part-time External Relations coordinator. Her current role allows her to leverage her lived experience of 30 plus years as a military spouse, as well as her passion for communication and connections, to support military and Veteran communities. Carole attended the University of Maryland, graduating in 1990 with a B.A. in English and a B.S. in Journalism. She later earned a teaching certificate and a Masters of Education, Curriculum and Instruction, from George Mason University (1997) and recently completed Dare To LeadTM training.  

Carole has been an active advocate for military families for more than 30 years, reflected in her volunteer roles including board and advisor positions on multiple unit family readiness teams, the Navy Marine Corps Ball Committee, local Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society chapters, the Desert Leadership Seminar, and spouse organizations. A champion for military spouse employment, she regularly presents to military spouse leadership programs.  Previous work experiences include a public relations role at Hope for the Warriors and five years as the Communications Director of a church in Arlington, VA. Early work experiences include a communications position at a credit union, editor of several trade publications and art director of a specialty car magazine. Currently residing in Washington, DC, she remains ready for the next move.
